ABOUT THIS WEBSITE...
First of all, welcome! We're glad you've stopped by to visit.

Below you will find details about purchasing paintings or artwork, about gift certificates, about how to get a commissioned piece done, and then some information about Paula.

At present, there are two Gallery pages - one for Equine artwork and one for Portraits - the two most favorite subjects for Paula. She is also branching into doing wedding portraits, so watch for more of those to come.

Just a note about the Gallery Pages. There is a bar at the bottom with 6 thumbnails of paintings, but if you click on the arrows to the right or left of that bar, there are a total of 16 paintings on each page that you can check out. There is a painting number, title and details just above each painting. Each painting has been numbered - but they may not necessarily be shown here in any particular order.

And there is more. This website also includes a blog - which will show the paintings and give more details about them - including some of the fascinating and interesting stories behind them. So if you want to know more about a painting, just check for the painting number, then go to the blog and find that post. (If you don't find the painting you want on the blog, please be patient - Paula will be adding those as she has time.)

Please do visit the blog, as there may be other paintings shown there that are not here on the main website.

If you want to contact Paula, check out the contact methods on our Contact page. And if you want to be on her Notice List when new paintings are completed or are for sale, please sign up on the contact page as well.

ABOUT PURCHASING A PAINTING...
Paintings for sale are listed as such on the Gallery pages - just look for the "For Sale" note on the Title headers.

Please note that the latest paintings may be listed on the Blog, but not on the website, so check there as well.

ABOUT GIFT CERTIFICATES...
Please note that Paula has gift certificates available. Simply contact her for details.

ABOUT HAVING A PIECE COMMISSIONED...
Paula is available to do commissioned pieces. Do you have a special person, horse, pet, or scene that you would like a painting of, either for yourself, or to give as a special gift? Then contact Paula to see what she can do for you.

ABOUT PAULA...
May 22, 2008, Calgary, Alberta

I was born in London, England and am married to a scientist. We have moved around quite a bit due to my husband’s work. As a result our three children were each born in a different country – the first in Jerusalem, Israel, the second in Eugene, Oregon, and the third in Quebec City, Canada. We settled in Calgary in 1989. I still live in Calgary with my husband, youngest daughter, and three dogs - two golden retrievers and a Kuvasz.

For the first few years I took care of my children and did a lot of volunteer work. Then my younger daughter started horse riding. Introducing me to horses was where it all began. First I started riding myself, which is where my love of horses came from. From this I was inspired to learn to paint these beautiful animals, and it really changed my life. From there I also started painting portraits of people.

I have a great passion for painting. I usually start painting in the evening and often am still painting when the morning paper is delived - I just lose all track of time. I have had my paintings at the Calgary Stampede (I won first prize in Oils - “Waiting for Stampede” can be found in the Portraits Gallery - and many other prizes for acrylics, pastels and colored pencil drawings on sandpaper). I have also had my work displayed at Spruce Meadows, was commissioned to do a painting that is on display at the University of Alberta, I have paintings in the U.S.A. etc.

This past year I was commissioned to paint a group of Happy International Children for a new International school in Pai Chai, South Korea in which I painted 16 children at near life size! (If you are interested you can go to my “Portraits Gallery” to see it).

This week I will be starting a painting that will be part of a mural that will be unveiled at the Masters at Spruce Meadows this September.

I usually paint from a photograph supplied by you, but I am willing to come to take a photograph if preferred.

I try to keep my paintings at a reason price as I feel that every child should have a painting of their horse, and every parent and grandparent should be able to have a painting of their child!

Thanks for visiting my web site - I am at many horses shows so if you see me come and say Hi!
